Reflective Privacy Film

Whether you’re renovating your bathroom, improving street-level privacy, or simply updating your décor, our privacy window film has different levels of privacy, finish or styles to suit your specific needs.

Many people choose silver window film for its "see out but not in" advantages without understanding that they are also receiving UV blocking solar control that reduces energy usage. It's important to understand that mirrored window film does not offer privacy at night. Why are these popular? Because they are window films for heat reflection, they can reduce the amount of heat that comes into your room by reflecting the sun rays, we have a range of heat reflection films that reduce less or more heat, like our 80% reflective privacy film reduces more heat than the 50% silver film, but the 50% has less tint, so if you need advice on which film is better for you please speak to one of our team members.

What is UV Protection?

UV protection helps to protect furniture, flooring and skin from sun exposure. They also reduce glare on screens – an added bonus for home offices and living rooms with TVs or monitors positioned near windows.

Mirrored Window Film

What is Mirrored Window Film?

Mirrored glass film is a cost-effective alternative to changing your windows for reflective glass. Cost-wise, depending on the quantities required, fully installed “mirrored” window film costs between thirty and fifty pounds per square metre and between fifteen and thirty pounds for a DIY mirrored window film privacy product.

How does Mirrored Film work?

Mirror film works as a privacy or security feature by making one side of the glass appear mirrored and the other side “see-through”. To achieve this, the side that appears mirrored must be around 7x brighter than the side that appears clear. This is easy to achieve during the daytime with external windows but not so easy at night when it’s dark outside and lights are on inside. With internal glazing such as vision panels and partitioning lighting must be manipulated to achieve one-way vision which can be notoriously difficult.

For nighttime privacy, there is unfortunately no effective solution with window film so it is advisable to close curtains or blinds for complete peace of mind when using mirror window tint home.

Which Mirrored Window Film is the best?

There are several window films that can be classed as “mirrored”. These come in various guises including silver, bronze and grey reflective, however the silver mirrored films are the most effective for privacy requirements. As with all films there will be a certain degree of internal light loss, however this can be mitigated by discussing your requirement with the vendor before purchasing. For example, a residential installation could be adequately achieved by selecting a medium-shade film like the 65% reflective window film which would still afford a high level of daytime privacy with minimal light loss.

The best one-way window film not only protects your privacy but also reduces glare and blocks harmful UV rays. Applying mirror tint for home windows or mirror reflective window film is a cost-effective way to improve energy efficiency, as it reflects sunlight and reduces heat buildup.

Is Mirrored Window Film legal?

Despite assertions to the contrary, mirrored film is not illegal on buildings and does not reflect glare at passing motorists. It is however illegal if used as an auto tint on the front windows of any type of vehicle.
