Lustalux recently had occasion to visit the A&E department of the Royal Preston Hospital. Thankfully we didn’t require any medical treatment but we were able to provide some cosmetic surgery of our own.
For the wall and window graphics, we were given sketched concepts by the architect which were then translated into a series of striking designs by our talented designer Laurie. We then digitally printed these onto both wall vinyl and clear window film which our skilled graphics team installed, giving the waiting areas for both the children’s and adults waiting areas a clean contemporary look.
Hospital waiting rooms can be rather austere and daunting places so hopefully, we have added a little cheer to the surroundings.
Because of the nature of these areas, much of the work was carried out while the department remained open. For experienced operatives this is no hardship as they are adept at working in all types of “live” situations with little or no disruption to the working environment.
Not only were the walls and windows given our specialist treatment, the reception desk which spans two areas was given a dramatic face-lift with one of our many architectural wrapping films. After extensive preparation to the surfaces of the desk, the tired looking wood laminate effect was replaced with a modern dark grey wood grain with a pale grey work top wrap.
